pet of the week

Willamina, Nuggie and Bandit are three-year-old litter mates that became homeless when their owner passed away. The cats are healthy and sweet. They are spayed or neutered, micro chipped, appropriately vaccinated and treated for parasites. We are not requiring the siblings be adopted together but they are inside only cats. Bandit is a very large boy, Nuggie is missing an eye and Willamina is timid until she knows you then she is extremely affectionate, all three are loving cats. The Hart County Humane Society has a large number of cats in our care. With hope of finding homes for as many of our cats as possible for the holidays we are temporarily reducing adoption fees. Cats 6 months of age and up will be $25.00 and kittens under 6 months will be $50.00 for approved adoptions. This special event is going on at the J. Robert Mauldin Animal Sanctuary 1364 Reed Creek Hwy. in Hartwell and PetSmart on Clemson Blvd. in Anderson SC. Cats and kittens are available all day, every day at PetSmart and at the Mauldin Sanctuary Friday's 10:00-2:00, Saturday and Sundays 12:00-5:00 or by appointment.

If you would like to meet any of the wonderful animals come to the J. Robert Mauldin Animal Sanctuary Adoption Center.

If you would like an application, or more information, please call 706-436-0965 or email hartcohumane@yahoo.com.

Applications to adopt a Hart County Humane Society pet can be found here or at Three Trees Veterinary Services at 1087 E. Franklin St. in Hartwell.

Thank you for considering the adoption option. The Hart County Humane Society is grateful for those who don't drive by an animal in distress but stop to offer help. Even a call to the sheriff’s department for animal control is a rescue call.

The Hart County Humane Society is a volunteer rescue organization. We receive no funding from any government agencies or other groups. We are a 501C3 non-profit organization. Donations are desperately needed to fund our foster/rescue and spay/neuter programs. Donations can be mailed to P.O. BOX 1062 Hartwell Georgia 30643 or be made online through PayPal. Please help us help the animals in our community.

Rocky

Rocky

Rocky says please help me!

Less than two years old, abandoned by his family and heart worm positive, Rocky found himself at the overcrowded Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter. As his time ran out he somehow caught the eye of a rescue angel, she not only got him out, she would be his buddy. Rocky has been treated for the nasty heart worms, is micro chipped, fully vaccinated and been treated for parasites. He is cared for by a team of volunteers who love him and know he is a wonderful dog. Rocky gets stressed in chaotic situations and doesn't always show his loving spirit at busy adoption events. Please be a voice for Rocky and help him find his meant to be forever family.

Riley

Riley

Riley is a sweet natured 15 month old Australian Shepard.  Rescued from Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter, he is neutered, heartworm negative, micro chipped, up to date with vaccinations and been treated for parasites. Riley is smart and eager to please, he will be a wonderful addition to his forever family.
